Booking Bridal Henna, Step by Step
A bridal henna booking runs in five steps, and the design is agreed before the day rather than on it.
- Agree the design in advance from reference images, rather than choosing it on the day.
- Arrive early enough that the paste has time to dry before you need to move.
- Work hands first, then arms, then feet, in the order that lets the dried areas stay still.
- Leave the paste on as long as the design and the stain depth need, because this part cannot be rushed.
- Remove it by scraping rather than washing, and explain the first 12 hours of aftercare before leaving.

Bridal henna has its own rhythm. Here’s the realistic lead-time plan.
- 4+ weeks before: get in touch. Share your wedding date, venue (or hotel), and the style you have in mind (Arabic, Indian, Pakistani, modern minimalist, etc.). We agree on scope — full hands + feet? Bridal + bridesmaids? Multi-day?
- 2–3 weeks before: trial run. A smaller test design on one hand or foot. Lets us agree on density, motif style and exact shade.
- 1–2 days before the wedding: the main bridal henna. Bridal hands + feet typically take 2.5–4 hours each; full bridal coverage across both days is the most relaxed option.
- Wedding morning: optional touch-ups if anything faded or smudged. Add-on, not in the base price.

What we can and can’t do
Bridal and event henna has real limits, and the honest ones are below - what we take on, and what we do not.
- We do: traditional Indian / Arabic / Pakistani / modern minimalist designs. Dots, paisleys, florals, custom motifs from a reference image. Bridal coverage up to elbows and knees.
- We don’t: black henna (PPD-free policy — burns and allergic reactions are common). Glitter or rhinestones embedded in the paste — they don’t last and can irritate.
- Group bookings: up to 3 hands in parallel if timing is tight. For larger parties, we can bring a second qualified henna artist — ask us.
Bridesmaids and family
Common add-ons: matching simplified designs for bridesmaids, a single motif for the mother of the bride, smaller designs for flower girls. Each is quoted by the design. Pricing per hand, set when you book.

Should I book bridal henna in advance?
Yes. Detailed bridal designs need time set aside, so we book them well ahead rather than same-day. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable for a bridal booking, and earlier again in wedding season. Send a reference image when you enquire, because density decides the time far more than size does. Do you travel to venues?
Yes, hotel rooms, condos and event venues across Bangkok are all workable, and venue bookings are common for weddings and pre-wedding events. Henna needs one to two hours of sitting still while the paste dries, so a room where you can settle suits it far better than a gap between two other commitments. Tell us the venue when booking, since some ask for suppliers to be registered in advance. Allow somewhere quiet to sit rather than a corridor. Give us the venue name when you book.
How long does bridal henna take?
It depends entirely on the design. Simple hand work can be done in under an hour, while intricate bridal designs covering hands, forearms and feet can run to several hours and are sometimes split across sittings. Give the practitioner a reference image well before the day so the time can be quoted accurately rather than guessed. Booking a large design without allowing enough hours is the single most common cause of a rushed result, and it shows in the detail.
When should the henna be applied relative to the wedding?
Two to three days before the event. Henna reaches its deepest colour at around forty-eight hours after the paste is removed, so applying it the day before means wearing it at its lightest on the day it matters most. Applying it much earlier risks it beginning to fade. If there are several events across a week, plan the application around the one you most want it to look its best for and say which that is. We will work the timing back from that date.
Can you do henna for the whole bridal party?
Yes, and group bookings are common for weddings and pre-wedding events. The practical constraint is time rather than willingness: several people each needing detailed work adds up quickly, so it needs planning well in advance rather than arranging in the same week. Tell us how many people, roughly what level of detail each wants, and where everyone will be, and we will tell you honestly what is achievable in the hours available and whether more than one visit makes sense.
Is the henna safe for skin?
We use natural henna, which is a plant paste and stains the top layer of skin a brown to deep red colour. What you should avoid anywhere is so-called black henna, which contains a chemical dye that can cause serious skin reactions and is not the same product despite the name. If you have never had henna before and have sensitive skin, ask for a small test patch a day or two ahead rather than starting with a full bridal design.
