Facial Massage, a Full Facial, or a Foot Oil Massage?
A facial massage, a full facial and a foot oil massage treat three different things. The table below compares what each is for, whether it includes extraction, and when to book which.
| Facial massage | Full facial | Foot oil massage | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Circulation, puffiness and tension in the face | Cleansing, extraction and treating the skin itself | Tired feet, and winding down |
| Includes extraction | No | Yes, where the skin needs it | No |
| Best if | Your skin is fine and your face feels tight or puffy | You have congestion, texture or breakouts to treat | You have been walking Bangkok all day |
| Often booked | Added to a facial, or alone as a short visit | Alone, or as the start of a course | Added to nails or a facial on the same visit |
What It Costs, and How the Price Is Worked Out
A facial massage is priced by session length. It is often added to another facial rather than booked alone, and booking the two together is one call-out rather than two. We confirm the figure on WhatsApp before the appointment is booked, so nothing is decided at your door.
- Session length
- Whether it is booked alone or added to a facial
- Whether a foot oil massage goes on the same visit
The Session, Step by Step
The session runs in five steps and includes no extraction, so nothing needs recovering from afterwards.
- Towel down, hair back, and lower the room lights if you want them lower.
- Cleanse quickly, so the massage is not working over the day's sunscreen.
- Apply oil or balm, then massage upward and outward across the face.
- Work lymphatic drainage strokes along the jaw and neck, if that is what you booked it for.
- Remove the excess product, apply moisturiser, and explain what to expect for the next few hours.
What the session covers
What the session focuses on
Facial massage is the right pick when your skin feels dull or puffy and your face carries tension — common after long flights, late nights, or Bangkok heat. We work the cheeks, jawline, brow and temples to improve circulation and ease the muscles that hold daily stress.
What the session feels like
Steady, gentle massage using a nourishing oil or serum suited to your skin type. It is the most relaxing part of a longer facial routine, and works as a standalone too.
Where the tension actually lives
Most people carry facial tension in three predictable places, and a 30-minute session hits all three:
- The jaw — where clenching is held.
- The temples, often from screen-time squinting.
- The forehead — eyebrows raised through concentration or stress.
The face afterwards looks softer and more open — sometimes literally, because the muscles around the eyes and jaw release.
The lymphatic angle, and who it suits
Lymphatic drainage angle
Beyond relaxation, facial massage concentrates on the areas people most often notice for puffiness, around the eyes and jawline. This is why some clients see a slightly difference the morning after a session rather than immediately. That is when it is visible the next day, not immediately.
Who shouldn’t book it
A facial massage does not suit everyone. Skip it, or tell us first, in the situations below.
- Active facial breakouts or open wounds — wait until healed.
- Recent filler or botox — we do not work over it. Tell us at booking and we will reschedule.
- Active sinus infection — defer until cleared.
Pairing
Best paired with
This treatment pairs best with the services below, each booked as part of the same visit.
- Add a clean-up or anti-ageing facial for a fuller session.
- Combine with hair oil massage for head + face tension release in one visit.
See the Facials & Skin menu for the full set of facial treatments.
Add-ons that pair well
These add-ons pair well with a facial massage, and both are short enough to fit the same appointment.
- Foot massage — full head-to-toe relaxation in one visit. Added to the session, and to the quote.
- Hair oil massage — addresses scalp tension and complements the face work.

Questions
Before you book
Is facial massage safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. We adjust both pressure and product to your skin type, and the massage is the gentlest part of any facial. Tell us your concerns on WhatsApp before we arrive. Home Visit Beauty performs facial massage as part of a facial booking anywhere in Bangkok. If your skin is reactive rather than simply sensitive, say what actually happens to it, because that changes the product more than the pressure. Nothing exfoliating is used, which is why this is the treatment that suits compromised skin best.
How long until I see a difference?
Most people feel the difference immediately: the face is softer, less tense and noticeably less puffy, particularly around the jaw and under the eyes. That part is circulation and lymphatic drainage and it is real but short-lived. Evenness of skin tone builds over a few days rather than appearing at once. If you are booking before an event, the day before is better than the same morning, because any flush has settled by then. Puffiness responds fastest of everything. Under-eye and jawline change most visibly.
Can it cause breakouts?
Rarely, because the oils used are chosen to be light rather than heavy. If your skin is acne-prone, mention it when you book and a lighter serum is used instead of an oil, which removes the main risk entirely. Massage also moves congestion around, so if you have active breakouts in one area the practitioner will work around it rather than through it. Say what your skin usually does. A lighter serum is the usual substitution. Active breakouts are worked around rather than over.
Will my face be red afterwards?
Mild pinkness for fifteen to thirty minutes is normal and settles on its own without anything being applied. It comes from increased circulation, which is much of the point of the treatment rather than a side effect of it. Skin that is naturally reactive may stay flushed a little longer. If you are heading somewhere straight afterwards, allow half an hour, and if it is for an event, book the day before instead. Reactive skin may stay warm a little longer.
How is this different from a full facial?
A facial massage is the manual work on its own: lymphatic drainage, pressure point work and lifting movements, without the cleanse, exfoliation, extraction and mask that make up a full facial. It is shorter, gentler and involves no product being left to work on the skin. People book it for puffiness, tension and circulation rather than for congestion or breakouts. If what bothers you is texture or blocked pores, a cleanup or a full facial is the better use of the appointment.
Can I book it as an add-on to another treatment?
Yes, and that is how most people have it. Adding facial massage to a manicure, a wax or another facial makes practical sense because the practitioner is already with you and the setup is done. It adds a modest amount of time to the visit rather than doubling it. Say what you want to combine when you message us so the appointment is booked with the right length, since adding treatments once the practitioner has arrived is not always possible within the slot.
